In The Community
Each day, the Twin Rivers YMCA impacts the New Bern area. Everything we do focus around our core initiatives of youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Some of our initiatives include:
3rd & 4th Grade Water Safety Program
In collaboration with Craven County Schools, 4th Graders in the Spring and 3rd Graders in the Fall learn lifesaving ifelong skills such as wearing a PFD, swim instruction, general water safety instruction.
Over 1000 children served annually and supported by the Twin Rivers YMCA Annual Scholarship Support Program.
Youth and Government
Ages: 9th-12th grade
Here at the Y, we believe in the potential of each student to change the world. This program gives them the tools to understand and participate in government and fulfill their potential. Students prepare, argue and pass bills and legislature in a mock government. Currently, Youth and Government is only offered to Epiphany School students as a club activity.
