Get Involved with Our Cause
Volunteers are the backbone of our organization. Without volunteers we could not provide our community with the extensive services and programs we currently offer. Volunteers provide essential assistance in the administration of each department division, serve on committess, work with staff to meet the needs of our members and participants, and provide many other valuable contributions to the organization.
Our YMCA offers year-round volunteer opportunities for members and non-members from the community and surrounding areas to give back and help build a better community within our Y. Opportunities range throughout the year and are based upon need within a program or department.
Plan to volunteer and get involved in making our community a better place. For more information about volunteering with our Y, email Marissa Zinni at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 252-638-8799 x239.
Volunteer, Make a Difference
Girls on the Run/STRIDE Coach
Volunteering for Girls on the Run and STRIDE is fun and rewarding. We provide training, support and supplies to our volunteers throughout the season. Although it can be time consuming, volunteers come back season after season because volunteering allows them to truly make an impact in our community.
Safety Around Water
The TWIN RIVERS YMCA teaches over 2,400 children water safety education and swim instruction each year. Volunteers help make this life-saving program possible. You can help!
Join us during Safety Around Water. Volunteers will assist 3rd grade students learn how to properly wear life jackets, practice saving a drowning victim, and learn to float and keep their heads above water.
Water Safety takes place in the Outdoor Pool, Tuesdays through Fridays in the morning.
To ensure we meet the highest standard in safety, 6-10 volunteers per day are needed for the program.
