Whether you are brand new to fitness or a veteran wellness seeker looking for new workout ideas, YMCA Personal Trainers are trained and certified to provide you with safe and effective workouts. Your Personal Trainer will develop a workout program specifically designed to help you attain your fitness goals.

Personal Training programs include:

  • sport specific training (including running, cycling and swimming)
  • prenatal/postpartum fitness
  • muscular imbalance correction
  • balance/posture training
  • bone density/weight bearing training
  • strength training
  • fat loss management

Available for members only.

Small Group Training
Our personal trainers will help you achieve your goals with a small group of friends (up to 5 people per session). Available for members only.

All fees are per person.

Janice Cox

Group Exercise Instructor/ Personal Trainer

I am a certified personal trainer and  group exercise instructor with 25 years experience.   Recently retired from the teaching profession, I continue to work in the fitness industry teaching classes and training individual clients.  I have experience working with members who require modifications as well as those who desire core training with an emphasis on posture and balance.

 


 

Natalie Palfrey

Group Exercise Instructor/ Personal Trainer

Hello Y family! My name is Natalie Palfrey. My family moved to New Bern in 2020. We are originally from Washington, Pennsylvania. We wanted to be closer to the beach! My husband Lyndon and I have been married for almost 20 years. We have 4 teenage boys, Tyler 17, Avery 16, Joshua 15, and Bailey 13. We love our fur babies Roxy 2 and Sassy 8, both golden retrievers, and 4 shelter rescue cats, Luna, Blaze, Blizzy, and James. I went to Virginia Tech and California University of Pennsylvania for my bachelor degree in sport’s management. I am a former Strongman/Woman Competitor and CrossFit Competitor. I have been working at the Y since the spring of 2021 and have loved every moment of it! This is the most caring and positive environment I have ever worked in! I have been training clients for about 15 years now. I truly love what I do! I am a certified group fitness instructor, advanced personal trainer, spin instructor, and Livestrong instructor. I have studied through Fitour, ACE, ISSA, and NASM. I would love to meet you right where your now in your fitness journey and help you get to wherever you want to be through my classes, personal training or group training!


Justice Tomchesson

Wellness Coordinator/Personal Trainer

Hello YMCA members and family! MY name is Justice and I have a passion for fitness and healthy habits.I have been coming to the YMCA since I was 4 or 5 years old to play basketball and have worked here off and on since I was 15 years old, serving as a referee, camp counselor, and now as wellness coordinator. I have a degree in exercise science from North Carolina Wesleyan college and a masters degree in kinesiology from East Carolina University. I would love to work with you on your fitness goals and help you become the best possible version of yourself. Whether that be through the YMCA personal training program, or just stopping me in the hall to talk. I feel that I have the expertise and knowledge to help you. You just have to ask!
