Being healthy means more than simply being physically active. It’s about maintaining a balanced spirit, mind and body. The Y is a place where you can work toward that balance by challenging yourself to learn a new skill or hobby, fostering connections with friends through our lifelong learning programs, or bringing your loved ones closer together through our many family-centered activities.
At the Y, it’s not about the activity you choose as much as it is about the benefits of living healthier on the inside as well as the outside.
Schedule your Orientation
A FREE equipment orientation is offered to all members. Equipment orientation includes instructions to use the fitness equipment in the Cardio and Weight Resistance rooms safely and effectively. Intro to Spin
Learn everything you need to know about Spinning® in this one-time class. You will learn the mechanics of the bike, proper set-up, safety precautions, and so much more. Practice your new-found skills with a short group ride.
Intro to Spin will be held on Saturday, September 29th, from 9:00-10:00am. Space is limited, so register online or at the Service Desk today. For more information, contact Kira Parker. This class is for members only.
TRX Functional Training
The TRX Suspension Trainer is a performance training tool that leverages gravity and the user’s body weight to enable hundreds of exercises for every fitness goal. Paired with exciting equipment, suspension training develops strength, balance, flexibility, and core stability simultaneously, all at the intensity you choose.
Whether you are brand new to fitness or a veteran wellness seeker looking for new workout ideas, YMCA Personal Trainers are trained and certified to provide you with safe and effective workouts. Your Personal Trainer will develop a workout program specifically designed to help you attain your fitness goals.
Teen Certification is for teens ages 12-15 years old. Teens will learn the appropriate knowledge, skills and abilities to properly use the cardio equipment and the resistance machines.
This does not allow teens under16 to use the free weight room.
Teen Certification meets the Second Thursday of every month at 5:30pm.

A fun yoga class for kids ages 4-9! During this class, kids will be taught, with the help of music and props, a variety of poses and breathing techniques that will help build strength, confidence, flexibility, and calmness.
Kid’s Yoga is held every Monday from 5:30-6:15pm in the Multi-Purpose Room. Bringing your own mat is recommended.
Special Needs Zumba
Special Needs Zumba® helps children and adults of all abilities benefit from physical fitness and group interaction.
Students and mentors are encouraged to participate together. This fun social party-like workout is appropriate for both male and female individuals with all forms of physical and mental special needs. Modifications and progressions will be provided. This program is absolutely free to all TWIN RIVERS YMCA members and non-members. Please come dressed in non-restrictive workout attire. Closed toe gym shoes are required to participate.
Participants will meet on Wednesdays from 5:00-5:45pm. Participants will meet in the Multi-Purpose room and class will be led by our licensed Zumba® Instructor, April Daniels.
Morning Glory Boot Camp
Challenge yourself with this fun, 4-week-long, circuit-style class that caters to every level of fitness. This small group class offers strength training, agility, cardio, core, and more all led by Group Fitness Instructor, Sarah Brandon.
Child care will be available free for members, $2 per child for non-members.

Body Blast Boot Camp
Body Blast Boot Camp is a 45-minute small group class incorporating strength training, body weight exercises, and circuit workouts. You will utilize battle ropes, kettle bells, medicine balls, and weights for an efficient workout to “blast” fat and boost your energy! Open to members of all fitness levels ages 16 and older.

Whole You Challenge
Holistic health is the integration of the mind, body, and spirit for optimal health. This 4 week challenge will encourage you to look at the body as a whole and focus on activities and practices that will result in a more balanced and healthier you. You can earn points in 4 different categories: Nutrition, Exercise, Hydration and Well-Being.
Each week you will keep track of the activities you have competed on a score cards and turn them in for points. Register at the Service Desk by 9/7 to receive your score cards and YMCA water bottle. The cost for this challenge is $2 and is open to members 16 & older.
Maintain, Don't Gain
Did you know that it is possible to enjoy yourself and still stay true to your healthy habits during the holiday season? Maintain, Don’t Gain will help to motivate and encourage you to live out your healthiest holidays yet!
With all of the feasting and busyness that comes along this time of year, you will receive weekly alerts with healthy recipes and learn new tips and tricks on how to manage the various obstacles that you may face. To help monitor your progress, pre and post challenge measurements will be taken the week prior to and after the challenge dates.
All participants will receive a YMCA Maintain, Don’t Gain t-shirt. Registration will be available at the Service Desk from 11/5-11/16. The cost is $10 per member.
