Fit-N-Focused

Our new Fit-N-Focused class, taught by personal trainer and group exercise instructor Kira O’Donnell, is a full body workout designed to increase cardiovascular and muscular endurance.

 

Both Rookies & Veterans: Designed to meet the needs of both new & advanced participants, this program is tailored and modified to ensure each individual gets a full body workout.  *Nutrition guide included*

 

Fit-N-Focused Rookies and Veterans:

T/TH-  11am—12pm ($119)

 

Bear Fit

This will rock your world! Get strong & fit with this strength based, moderate to high intensity program.

 

Rookies Only: Designed to teach workout fundamentals. This low to moderate intensity program will improve your mobility, balance, and strength.

 

Veterans Only: This supercharged program is for our program proven veterans.

 

Bear Fit Rookies:

M/W-  8:30-9:30am ($119)

T/TH-  6:30-7:30pm ($119)

 

Bear Fit Veterans:

M/W/F- 6-7am ($149)

Bunco

Bunco

Active Older Adults: Want a little more fun added to your Tuesdays? Come join us every Second Tuesday of the month to play the game Bunco.We will socialize and learn the fun and exciting game Bunco.Intended for Active Adults with little to no play experience.Canned goods are asked instead of a fee for donations to RCS.

Coffee and light refreshments will be available.

Who: Adults over age 55

When: Every second Tuesday of the month at 9:00 -10:00 am Beginning January 10, 2012

Where: Muti-purpose room

Fee: One canned food item for donation


Twin Rivers YMCA Triathlon

Twin Rivers YMCA Triathlon

The Sixth  Annual Sprint Triathlon will be held this year on May 19, 2012. The event includes 400 yard pool swim, 10 mile bike ride, 5K run and it is a USTA sanctioned event.  Register on-line at setupevents.com

NEW THIS YEAR!

We will be offering a Youth Triathlon on May 18, 2012. Ages 7 to 10 and 11 to 14 years old.

All proceeds to benefit the Twin Rivers YMCA Annual Scholarship Support Program.

Bike MS

Held Annually the second weekend in September, Twin Rivers YMCA members and staff field a team in support of this event and cause. The event includes a 30, 50, 75, and 100 mile ride held on Saturday and Sunday. Over 2,800 riders over two day event and $1.6 million dollars are raised for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The YMCA host inside camping for this event. There will be a fee for each night. More information will be available as we move into 2012.


Special Olympics Regional Swim Meet

The Twin Rivers YMCA collaborates with the Craven County Special Olympics. over 100 athletes from Craven, Jones, and surrounding counties compete in qualifying events.


Youth and Government

Youth and Government

Ages: 9th-12th grade

Here at the Y, we believe in the potential of each student to change the world. This program gives them the tools to understand and participate in government and fulfill their potential. Students prepare, argue and pass bills and legislature in a mock government. Currently, Youth and Government is only offered to Epiphany School students as a club activity.


3rd & 4th Grade Water Safety Program

3rd & 4th Grade Water Safety Program

In collaboration with Craven County Schools, 4th Graders in the Spring and 3rd Graders in the Fall learn lifesaving lifelong skills such as wearing a PFD, swim instruction, general water safety instruction.

Over 1000 children served annually and supported by the Twin Rivers YMCA Annual Scholarship Support Program.


Relay for Life

Relay for Life

The Twin Rivers YMCA Relay team helps the American Cancer society raise much needed funds and awareness for cancer research.Each of us has our own reasons for caring about the fight against cancer….. and you can help by joining the Twin Rivers YMCA Team.  Together we can help save lives! Relay for Life is held at Grover C. Fields Middle School in April.
